Our Food Bank is located beside the Thrift Store at 2660 Industrial Park Road in Smithville.  For information on food assistance click here  Food Assistance

Food Rescue We are registered with FoodRescue.ca and accept quality food from businesses that have excess product or have product that is safe yet cannot be sold.  This program helps us feed our clients and removes food from the waste stream.  To ensure your donation is suitable please contact the food bank at wlcc@bellnet.ca.

Donations Donations are accepted at the Volunteer Entrance Doors when the Food Bank is open or at the store main donation receiving bay doors Monday – Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.  Our foodbank is equipped with large refrigerators and freezers to accommodate a variety of product.  Thank you for supporting the needs of our community with your generous donations to our Food Bank. Please see the list below for our common Food Bank needs; you can always contact the Food Bank at wlcc@bellnet.ca or 905-957-5882 to enquire on our current needs. Food Bank Needs:

  • Canned and frozen meat and fish
  • Fresh produce and cheese
  • Peanut butter & jelly
  • Hot & cold cereals
  • Juices & juice boxes
  • Meat pasta, stew
  • Soups & crackers
  • Canned veggies, fruits
  • Rice dishes, pasta dishes
  • Instant coffee & tea
  • Personal Hygiene Products

Regretfully we cannot accept:

  • Over-the-counter medications (i.e. cough syrup, tylenol etc.)
  • Home-baked or home-prepared foods
  • Wild game meat
  • Opened food items, or food not in its original packaging
  • Stale-dated foods – please do not donate foods more than 1 year past their best before date

West Lincoln Community Care Food Bank Complaint Resolution Policy

West Lincoln Community Care Food Bank will encourage feedback by giving clients, customers, staff and volunteers the opportunity to share their experiences by email to wlcc@bellnet.com or phone: 905-957-5882, ext. 25.  West Lincoln Community Care Food Bank will respond to all incidents within five business days.  Complaints can also be forwarded to Food Banks Canada Customer Experience Hotline by phone 1-877-280-0329 or email:  complaints@foodbankscanada.ca).
